David W. Wycoff, 96, of Burnham, passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, at Valley View Haven.

Born Jan. 23, 1925, in Aliquippa, he was the son of the late William J. and Ruth S. Wycoff.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Ruth E. Wycoff; and a son, Scott W. Wycoff, who passed in 1990.

He is survived by daughter, Rebecca W. Treaster and husband, Todd, of Burnham; two granddaughters, Jessica T. Smith and husband, Andrew, and Jennifer Rohley; a great- granddaughter, Emma Smith; nephews, Randy Richards and wife, Joanne, of North Carolina, William Richards, of Virginia, and Drew Porter, of Virginia; nieces, Kathy Richards- Braun and husband, Dennis, of Hollidaysburg, and Nancy Porter, of Florida.

David graduated from Beaver High School, Class of 1942. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1949.

He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. He was in the 42nd Infantry Division, 232nd Regiment, WWII in France, Germany and Austria. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

He worked with U.S. Steel – Irvin Works and general office, the Weirton Steel Company and Standard Steel. He was a registered professional engineer. After retirement from Standard Steel, he worked with Penn Fuel Gas Co.

David enjoyed woodworking, cabinet making, fishing in Coffee Run and photography with the State College photo club and the “Common Ground” magazine.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a memorial service to follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Braun officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rescue Our Furry Friends.

Interment will be private and take place in Beaver Cemetery, with military honors.
